About Amika
Amika Caruso is a 27-year-old woman from interior British Columbia. Raised in the mountains, she cherishes the pleasures of solitude and nature for their inspiration. She has been filling journals with romantic language since childhood, writing nearly as many pages as she reads. Caruso is currently living in the small fishing town of Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. She and her cat live humbly in a campground, surrounded by unique people and a close community. She spends her summers in northern Saskatchewan at a remote lodge and winters as a barista at her local roastery.
After the publication of her first collection of poetry, “She Remains”, Caruso has been diligently working on future collections while also experimenting with chapbooks and journals in unconventional formats. Her preferred methods are hard copy, typewritten on homemade paper, collages glued together from scraps, and handwritten in a leather bound journal.
